Ahhh, Sunday afternoon

Our cat, Spud, has been sleeping on this same step all afternoon. We have been coming in and out and he just watches us step over him and doesn't hardly move a muscle. Lazy bum.

We are going to make a quick trip up to Ruidoso for a couple of days tomorrow. Camping for a couple of nights then stay in town somewhere maybe one night. We haven't really had a "vacation" this summer. We have been everywhere though. Dallas, Denver, Shreveport. The gremlins came back in the truck and I put it back in the shop Saturday. They think there are some bad wires that need to be changed. That is what has been causing some problems off and on. So we have a couple of days to goof off. Really, we have a lot going on right now, but if we don't go to the mountains soon it will be too cold.

Our church is doing a used coat collection this month. We are collecting good used coats to give out in October. Amanda and myself are the ones kinda heading it up so we have a lot to do now with that. I have been whipping out the electric cattle prod to get folks in the congregation to "volunteer" for this project. The only problem I can see is I hope we can get plenty to show up on the distribution days. Oct 11th and 18th. I am not sure if the word will get out well enough. If we do have lots of coats left they will still be given to other charities.

  1. Looks relaxing. It must have been a nice day outside. Good for ya'll on organizing the coat drive. Word has a way of getting around when stuff like that is being given out so I'm sure you'll have plenty of takers when the time comes. Our church in Ft. Collins did that every fall and we never had enough coats for everyone who came to get one.

  2. Good to hear about Ft. Collins. I have heard the same thing about other places.

  3. I love that cat pic. Hope that you have a great time camping and whatever in Ruidoso. I think they have had plenty of rain, so it should be pretty. Good luck on the coat drive. Way to get involved and be a leader.
